Doctoral & Specialist Programs
A doctorate is the most advanced degree you can receive in your academic discipline in most cases. Earning this prestigious credential sets you apart as a leader in your field and demonstrates your commitment to your professional growth. You’ll be better prepared and more competitive in achieving your career goals and academic interests.
- Online doctoral students pay in-state tuition regardless of geographic location, saving many students thousands of dollars over the course of their programs.
- Many of ǧÃŬAV’s doctoral programs allow you to use the research and writing in your academic core courses to support your dissertation topic.
- Did you know? Because a doctorate is usually the highest level degree you can earn in an academic discipline, it’s referred to as a terminal degree.
Master's Programs
A graduate degree can serve many purposes. Whether you’re seeking the credential you need to advance at work, preparing for a career change or adding to your professional knowledge, a master’s degree can help you explore your academic and career interests.
- Student success services help you throughout your journey – everything from research support through the ǧÃŬAV Libraries to career planning services.
- ǧÃŬAV is routinely ranked as one of the region’s best values among public universities, offering a top quality graduate education at a price you can afford.
- Did you know? The average lifetime earning potential of a person with a master’s degree increases by more than 25%.
Certificates & Endorsements
ǧÃŬAV's graduate certificates and endorsements can increase your knowledge in your professional interest area and help you add to your credentials.
What’s the difference?
- Certificate – A certificate confirms you have completed the requirements for a specific series of courses.
- Certification – A certification indicates you have proven your knowledge in a specific discipline through an exam or other assessment process. Certification can be the precursor to licensure in some career fields. For example, students who complete ǧÃŬAV’s Geomatics Graduate Certificate fulfill the requirements to begin the state of Georgia’s graduate-level surveyor licensing process.
- Endorsement – Current or future teachers often add an endorsement to their licensure in order to teach a particular age range or group, such as ǧÃŬAV’s Autism Endorsement, which explores teaching methods specific to students with autism.
